APAC T&E Process Delivery and Global T&E Audit Manager

Global Finance Services (GFS) is at the heart of the Finance function - accountable to the AstraZeneca (AZ) Group for the design and delivery of high quality, simple to operate transactional finance processes that enable our customers to focus on AZ’s strategic priorities.
Our Purchase to Pay (P2P) team within GFS handles the end-to-end process of acquiring goods and services and ensuring payments to our suppliers. This includes procurement process management, invoice processing, payment processing, supplier relationship management, employee expense reimbursement, and Travel & Expense (T&E) transactional activities.
The role holder reports to the GFS APAC P2P Associate Director and is accountable for:
Strategic and Compliance
Ensure the operational conversion of the Finance strategic goals within a dedicated area of the business & supervise the performance and development of the T&E team
Support and recommends the Global Process Owner on possible policy modifications and process changes to reduce financial, compliance, and operational risks.
Manage the T&E team roadmap ensuring appropriate resourcing, coverage, and capability building across markets
Coordinate a business plan on process documentation and cross functional support practices
Design and oversee the global T&E audit strategy, including risk-based sampling, continuous monitoring, and targeted deep dives; ensure compliance with audit programs for flagged expense reports and drive adherence to T&E policies.
Build and sustain effective relationships with Global Assurance and Compliance to promptly raise and investigate suspected fraud or misconduct in T&E processes.
Lead T&E transformation initiatives and champion change management across functions and markets
Operations and Reporting
Disseminates data to Financial Stakeholders and Senior Management.
Identifies trends utilizing intelligence reporting or current AZ reporting system for non-compliance
Coordinate T&E monthly meetings with Compliance and local team to provide agenda on topics of concern.
Ensure compliance with Audit program for expense reports that have been flagged for further review and drive overall compliance with our T&E policies.
Review spend metrics and analysis for management
Maintain relationships with third-party suppliers (e.g., Concur, audit service providers) to optimize service quality and implement enhancements.
Continually monitor and improve processing efficiency, accuracy, and cycle times to deliver the best outcomes for AZ
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and simplification across global T&E processes, controls, and policies.
Continually review processing efficiencies and implement automation/controls to reduce exceptions and manual work.
Support future SAP S/4HANA deployment, ensuring integration between Concur and SAP meets business requirements and control expectations.
Lead transformation and audit-related projects as they arise, including pilots, rollouts, and post-implementation reviews.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Degree in finance, accounting, or business administration, or an equivalent professional qualification
Excellent oral and written communication in English and Mandarin
In-depth knowledge of T&E processes and compliance-related policies
Experience driving change and leading process improvement initiatives
Demonstrated project management capability
Inquisitive, investigative mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Experience with digital and automation initiatives
Knowledge of Concur, SAP, and Oversight
Working experience in a shared service centre within a global or large organization
Proven team leadership experience
Able to communicate at all levels and drive a change agenda through strong communication and stakeholder management to deliver measurable benefits
Comfortable working across global time zones and cultures
